We traded LTC's, handed over a special gift to X, exchanged a few signature stamps, met up with NeNe from Longview, WA, collected a couple of very special clue books, and enjoyed some breakfast and hot tea before starting out our day.
We were even lucky enough to stamp this awesome image carved by Bobguyman. It was amazing! This 14 year old really knows how to carve a stamp!
After making a pitstop in the bakeries restroom, complete with alligators in the bathtub, we were on our way!
Our first find was the Treasure of the Iredale by X Marks the Spot. We were able to catch a glimpse of what is left of the Peter Iredale that was shipwrecked along the Oregon Coast.

A little bit of history: The Peter Iredale was a four-masted steel
barque sailing vessel that ran ashore
October 25,
1906, on the
Oregon coast en route to the
Columbia River. It was abandoned on
Clatsop Spit near
Fort Stevens in
Warrenton about four miles (6 km) south of the Columbia River channel. Wreckage is still visible, making it a popular tourist attraction as one of the most accessible shipwrecks of the
Graveyard of the Pacific.
Our next find was Let's Go Camping by Toby. This is a letterbox that you can add a stamp to it that goes along with the theme of the box. This box is obviously about camping so I added my own little contribution of a lantern and some bugs because you can't go camping without the bugs for gosh sakes!

Next we were off to find a couple of letterboxes that were the main reason for us to make the trip to the coast; Graveyard of the Pacific which was a collaboration of three exceptional letterboxers; X Marks the Spot, Mama Wolf of The Wolf Family, and ElectricMedic and Passed On by X Marks the Spot which was a tribute to Mama Wolf. I soooo wish I could post the pictures that I took of the hunt and finds of these boxes but that would be totally against any and all ethical standards of letterboxing because these boxes are word of mouth but I will say that these letterboxes are by far the most exceptional and creative letterboxes that I have ever found and are my most memorable. Not only are they very well but together and the stamps are exceptional carves but the location was stunning from all directions. I will post those pictures:

This was my most favorite part of the day. To stand on the top of a sand dune and enjoy the view of the ocean from all directions and just stop and reflect on how beautiful the Pacific Northwest is and how lucky I am to live here and share it with some of my closest friends.
After picking up another letterbox in the area we headed for Rogue Nation by X Marks the Spot, another very cleverly hidden letterbox. While there we enjoyed some lunch and relaxation.

After picking a two other boxes we headed for home very happy and content to spend a lovely afternoon at the Oregon Coast.
So my friends, when is the next trip?
Thank you X Marks the Spot. Waiting anxiously for your next creation!
